The Czech Technical University in Prague (CVUT) was established in 1707 by Emperor Joseph I. It is one of the oldest institutes of technology in Central Europe. It is also the oldest non-military technical university in Europe. It is also one of the largest institutes in the Czech Republic - 24,500 students. Cooperation of CVUT and JINR is being developed fromk the first days of the establishment of the international research center in Dubna. The University Professors Václav Votruba, Ivan Úlehla, Čestmír Šimáně worked as Vice-Directors of JINR, many staff mrmbers of the University wereactively involved in scientific research in laboratories of JINR. The fact that such cooperation is being developed successfully in recent years, and Czech students come to Dubna to participate in the practices of the JINR University Centre is the great merit of JINR Vice-Director Richard Lednický.
